Project Description

From Potential Disaster to Stunning Success

The owners of ACT 3 have a rich 30-year history of serving happy clients in the Seattle area. The company name references a merger of three businesses, an intrinsic indicator of the company’s roots and authority in the PNW catering scene.

ACT 3 came to us after their initial site redesign project experienced a devastating loss: their former agency had shuttered with no warning and they needed a team to design and build them a site that reflected the pillars of their company—delicious food, fantastic customer service, and a modern, yet classic, culture.

efelle’s design team was thrilled to jump on board.

Design Inspiration

Our design uses full-width images of ACT 3’s mouth-watering dishes. We added in parallax scrolling and a marbled background to intimate a sense of class—with a twist—while also giving the site a little movement to catch the eye. Floating cut outs of individual food items add charm and fun, leaving no room for guesswork as to where ACT 3’s team excels—providing great food and experiences.

Juxtaposition of script, serif, and sans-serif fonts in red, gray, and black not only creates visual interest on the page, it draws the eye to key calls-to-action, anticipating the user’s desired navigational course and helping build site “conversions” for the ACT 3 team.

Development Successes

Well before getting their gorgeous new site design live, we wanted to make sure ACT 3 still had a digital presence during the course of our website design and development process. Within days of our new relationship with the ACT 3 team, we pushed live an eye-catching splash page that featured ACT 3’s menu, contact info, and a form for users to reach out to their team. We then switched gears to focus on building out a full, show-stopping website.

Our development process centered on predicting user journeys and making navigation as easy as possible. Understanding that users who visit catering pages are probably interested in testimonials (word-of-mouth reviews are often the determiner of which catering organization gets hired for high-pressure events like weddings, after all), we made it easy for the ACT 3 team to pull individual testimonials into pretty much any page.

In addition, our team created a Venues page that allows for filtering by location, products, and event types—effectively reducing the legwork involved in event planning and making ACT 3 an irresistibly easy option for planners.

Bon appetit!
