Website Design for Environmental Law Firm Marten Law

Marten Law has built a reputation across the country as a leader in environmental and energy law. Their team is made of up lawyers recognized as authorities in alternative energy, climate change, air quality, hazardous and solid waste, water resources and water quality, fisheries, environmental review and permitting.

Project Objectives

The goal of the website redesign was to build out a site that was more user-friendly and easy to navigate website that conveys exactly what Marten Law does. With a wide range of services, we also wanted to create a website that effectively cross-sells their services, especially since their clients often seek out Marten Law for legal help in multiple service categories. With teams throughout the country in Seattle, Oregon, and California, we wanted to convey that the Marten Law team works on cases nationally.

Design Notes

Overall, the goal was to create a site that is easy to navigate, bold, and has compelling copy and imagery. As leaders in environmental law, we wanted to create an exciting and bold homepage design that reflects the innovative nature of the firm. This included a looping video masthead and a unique angular menu. 

Throughout the site, we kept the design clean to let their content take the forefront, using strategically placed imagery throughout the site to remind users of the firm's mission being based in environmental law. 

Website Development

A crucial part of many law firm sites is to create a strong foundation of organic search engine optimization. With multiple locations and a range of practice areas, it was important to build the site out with strong SEO that highlights those practices as well as the different locations. You’ll see best practices implemented throughout the site, linking staff to locations, locations to practice areas, and practice areas back to staff. Not only is this great for SEO but it also makes it easy for users to understand what lawyers are at what location and what practice areas they serve in.

We built this site on the FusionCMS platform, allowing the busy Marten Law team to easily update their site through the content management system. From news and events to adding new staff members, the updates are done in just a few clicks.
